Preface:

We Two Boys is a duo for violin and baritone voice, with words by Benjamin Rogers. The piece contains six short movements that chronicle the life-cycle of a relationship, and quotes Walt Whitman’s poem “We Two Boys Together Clinging” from Leaves of Grass. “Clutch”, “Filter”, and “Our Foray” describe the exciting beginnings of the relationship, while “Infidelity”, “Regained”, and “Content” complete the cycle with feelings of betrayal, guilt, and reconciliation.

We Two Boys was commissioned by and dedicated to Robert Maril.
